Three arrested shortly after robbery

Three men were arrested hours after allegedly robbing residents in a Putfontein home this morning (March 4).

The robbery occurred in First Avenue, at around 7.30am.

Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson Const Zunickha Essakjee said a tracker company and police traced a vehicle stolen in the crime to Lindelani.

The male suspects, aged between 20 and 33, were arrested at around 12.40pm.

Police found cellphones and a bakkie that was stolen in the robbery.

Five weapons were also found in the men’s possession, although Essakjee could not confirm whether they were taken in the robbery.

A case of house robbery has been opened.
