Man arrested after business burglary

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a business burglary at a nursing academy in Voortrekker Street, in the Benoni CBD.

The incident occurred on February 21 around 8.30am.

Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said they received a complaint in the morning about a business burglary at the academy.

“When the Benoni Tekkie Squad arrived on scene, they followed every lead regarding the whereabouts of the suspect,” said Sekele.

“The man was traced and later found in a vacant building at the Benoni Plaza.”

Sekele added that upon further investigation, the stolen goods were recovered.

The burglar was charged for business burglary at the Benoni Police Station.

The Benoni Police Station commander, Brig Johan Jacobs, commended the three constables, Thulani Simandla, Thabo Mooi and Nzuzo Mbongwa, for a job well done.
