Benoni soars at 2017 District Awards

The Ekurhuleni North Grade 12 District Awards were held at Emperors Palace on Friday.

“We gathered here to celebrate good work and our children,” said the acting chief director of the Ekurhuleni region, Ephraim Tau.

Tau reminisced on the school journey of a child from their first day of class to matric.

He also said that matriculants must be more than employees; instead they must create employment and pay salaries instead of working for someone and be paid a salary.

Christa Roux introduced the categories of awards for the evening which included; awards for learners and teachers per subject, district top 10 awards, feeder primary schools for the top 10 learners, most improved public schools, best secondary school improvement programme, schools with 100 per cent pass rate, most improved independent school, top learner from an independent school, feeder school for top learner from an independent school, top public schools, OR Tambo International GM award and overall top learner award.
