Officers come to diabetic’s (77) rescue in squatter camp

What could have turned into a nightmare for a Benoni resident last week had a happy ending thanks to three caring men, two of whom were Kempton Park SAPS officers.

Leon Liebenberg was so grateful that he visited Kempton Park Police Station on Friday to personally thank the two officers again and to hand over a gift of appreciation.

Liebenberg had dropped off his domestic worker in Pomona on Wednesday afternoon last week. “Driving off, I suffered a totally unexpected and serious hypoglycaemia attack (low blood sugar).”

“I lost my way and ended up in a squatter camp nearby and lapsed into a coma. After recovering some hours later, I was told the following had happened:
