Ashton reshuffles its top staff structure

Changes to the Ashton International College top staff structure came into effect this year.

The changes are:

• Mark Brown, the senior college’s previous principal, has been appointed as the executive director of Ashton International College Benoni. He will oversee the brand’s development in Gauteng.

• Joe Erasmus, a previous principal of Rynfield Primary School, is now the managing director of the Ashton brand. He was previously the executive head of the Ballito college.

• André Buys moves from the managing director position to chairman of the brand’s board.

Brown said they plan to expand their footprint, with talk of offering tertiary education in the future.

“We’ve seen an opportunity in the tertiary market and it has always been Mr Buys’ vision to take Ashton and expand it as a brand,” said Brown.

He said the Ashton umbrella may soon reach the Western Cape, with two locations currently being investigated as possible sites.

When asked what sets the school apart from its competitors, Brown said they offer “two world’s in one”, referring to the IEB and Cambridge curriculums.
