SPCA Cheer Fund closes on a R60 000 high

Donations to the Benoni SPCA Cheer Fund reached over R60 000.

The fund, which opened in October, came to an end last week.

“Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts,” said Benoni SPCA manager, Vicky Finnemore.

“We, here at the SPCA, cannot believe the outpouring of support and generous donations from the public, whatever form it took.

“We have used this money towards our astronomical vet bills.”

Being able to pay these vet bills will ensure the organisation can treat more animals and improve their health conditions and save animals that had no hope.

The SPCA is funded predominantly by the public and is in constant need of donations.

“With the generosity of Benoni’s awesome residents we can all breathe easier,” said Finnemore.

“We can continue to be the voice of the animals in our area.”

These people donated to the Cheer Fund during the month of December:

• Mr Neethling (R500)

• Ellen Beyers (dog and cat food)

• Erasmus family (dog and cat necessities)

• Kleynhans family (dog and cat food plus food for staff)

• Mark Day (anonymous)

• Benoni Northerns Sports Club (R361)

• Hansa Rama (unknown)

• Dale and Ivan (unknown)

• Mannie and Jeanne (R200)
