Early gifts for these families

Families from Bredell were treated to an early Christmas party at Yenalo Wild in the Benoni Agricultural Holdings on December 14.

About 60 guests enjoyed the afternoon, which included lunch and gifts from Father Christmas.

To make the event more special, each child received a sponsored Christmas present.

Food hampers were handed out to the families, along with dog and cat food for their pets.

“This event is for the underprivileged people who can’t afford to have a Christmas party,” said Lillian Venter, the organiser of the event.

“It’s for people who can’t afford to buy presents for their loved ones.”

One of the guests, Netta Keniry, said it was a wonderful initiative.

“This is the most beautiful thing,” she said.

“There must be more people like this who care for our children.”

Venter plans to turn the Christmas party into an annual event as a form of giving back to the community.
