Actonville walk aims to raise funds for Gaza childcare centre
The Benoni Spurs Football Club held their sixth annual Palestine Solidarity Alliance Walk for Freedom on Sunday (November 27).
The walk is done to raise funds that will go towards the construction of a women and childcare centre in Gaza.
Struggle icon Ahmed Kathrada joined residents and community members for the walk, which proceeded from Willowmoore Park to Actonville.
The day also included a flea market and tea garden.
The community-based event was attended by young and old, along with various religious groups.
Food was handed out to children from Kids Haven and learners from Ephes Mamkeli Secondary School.
