Kids Haven needs sewing volunteers

Kids Haven in Cranbourne Avenue is calling on any volunteers who can support, nurture and teach their sewing group.

“The group started around three months ago and consists of ladies from the local community (Wattville primarily) who are interested in sewing to improve their livelihoods,” said coordinator of fund-raising at Kids Haven, Susan Daly.

“We are starting to create bags and lately Christmas decorations and are seeing market interest in these products.”

These volunteers need to have some knowledge on how to sew and should be able to share their knowledge and expertise with the group to develop their skills.

The group meets once or twice weekly at the centre in Cranbourne Avenue.
