Making his mark as a bodybuilder

Caleb Mutombo (19) was placed third in the Summer Superbodies bodybuilding competition, on November 19, in Ruimsig.

The City Times recently published two articles documenting the life and progress of the young bodybuilder, who is currently being trained by Ryan Manthe, co-owner of Trinergy Health and Fitness in Northmead.

Suffering from a disease called sickle-cell anaemia, Mutombo relocated from the Democratic Republic of Congo to South Africa in order to receive medical assistance.

“I felt really happy competing against other people,” said Mutombo.

“I loved posing and showing off my hard work; I feel like my body is a masterpiece and a reflection of my hard work.”
