Apply to become a police reservist

The Actonville, Benoni, Crystal Park, Daveyton, Etwatwa and Putfontein police stations are inviting members of the public to apply for voluntary vacant posts as reservists.

Applicants must be energetic, intelligent, physically and mentally fit and dedicated, with a desire to serve their country on a voluntary basis.

This is to reinforce the fight against crime beyond the festive season.

 

Requirements are:

• Must be a South African citizen by birth

• Must be at least 20 years old and below 50 years old

• Be in possession of at least a Grade 12 certificate or have successfully completed a South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) accredited NQF Level Four

• Must be able to speak, read and write at least two official languages, of which one must be English

• Allow his or her finger prints and DNA sample to be taken

• Be prepared to undergo training as may be determined by the National Police Commissioner.

Applications are available at the stations and can be submitted to the nearest police stations until November 25.

The Actonville SAPS will accept applications until November 23.
