Taxi driver hit with wheel spanner in Northmead

A taxi driver was apparently assaulted with a wheel spanner in Northmead this afternoon (Wednesday October 26).

Brig Johan Jacobs, Benoni SAPS station commander, said the incident was due to a dispute between taxi drivers over their routes.

The victim of the assault was still on scene at 3.30pm, but wasn’t seriously wounded.

A case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, will be opened.

No arrests have been made.
