Round Table thanks sponsors

Round Table Golden East 181 held a sponsors’ dinner in Lakefield on October 8, to thank them for making yet another Kids Holiday Project a success.

The Kids Holiday Project is in its 36th year, where children (predominantly from Benoni) from disadvantaged backgrounds are chosen to be spoiled during the third term school holidays.

This year, the organisation saw to it that 12 children were treated from October 1 to 9.

They visited several places including the Bunny Park and Gold Reef City.

“The children were aged between eight to 12 years,” said the public relations officer for the club, Rob Crosby.

“This dinner is just to thank the sponsors for making the week possible for these children to be spoiled and to give the sponsors a recap of what took place so that they know how their money was spent.”

A total of R75 000 was sponsored and used to make the 36th annual project a success.

The children also performed skits to show their appreciation to the sponsors.
