Case of murder suspect postponed

The case of robbery and murder for suspect, Tawfak Gepril, has been postponed to October 18 in order for an identity parade to be held.

He is to remain in custody until his next appearance.

Gepril made his second appearance on October 12 in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court after receiving legal aid.

According to Tryna Maritz, Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson, the discovery of a man’s burnt body was made on September 23, in an open veld in Putfontein, and a case of murder was opened at the Putfontein Police Station.

Gepril was arrested in connection with this murder and made his first appearance in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on October 7.
