Open Garden Day promises fun for the entire family

Rynpark Association of the Aged is inviting the public to its third Open Garden Day, on October 15.

The event will take place at Rynpark, in Parker Street, Rynfield, from 10am until 4.30pm.

The Rotary Club of Benoni Van Ryn and the Benoni Host Lions Club will be involved in different aspects of organisation on the day.

The tea garden in Rynpark Six will again be run by the Benoni Van Ryn Rotary Anns, while a display by the Q-East Quilting Club and a model train exhibition will be set up in the frail care section and the dining hall, respectively.

Hamburgers and boerewors rolls will be sold at Rynhaven, in Rynpark Four, and children will be entertained at the Clamber Club, in a safe, supervised area.

The Community Centre in Rynpark Five will offer a display of arts and crafts, plus several stalls selling handmade articles and plants.

School choirs, as well as marimba and pipe bands, will also form part of the entertainment on the day.

All funds raised go to the Rynpark Assisted Living Fund and will be used to improve the lifestyle of the estate’s frail care residents.

Entry is through either Rynpark Four or Five security gates, where secure off-road parking will be available free of charge.

An entrance fee will be charged, though not for children under two years of age.
