Rotarians help former Miss SA in matric dress project

Lorna Potgieter, who was Miss South Africa in 1984, received 25 dresses from the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora recently.

Potgieter lends the dresses to underprivileged girls for their matric dance.

“As Miss South Africa, I received plenty of clothes from designers to wear and showcase. After that, I did not wear them again very often and always lent them out,” Potgieter said.

This eventually grew into an ongoing project of hers, to help matric girls have a special night.
