Two die, one critical in two separate accidents

One man died and another was critically injured when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the N12 highway and landed on its roof in First Avenue, Northmead.

The incident happened when travelling east, at around midnight (September 18).

ER24 spokesperson Liam Hardy said the vehicle came to a standstill near Eighth Street.

He said the driver of the car had already died when paramedics arrived on scene.

The passenger was transported to the Sunshine Hospital for further care.

No other vehicle was involved and it is unclear what caused the accident.

In  another incident last night (September 18), ER24 paramedics Kelly Burchell said a man died when the car he was travelling in rolled from a road parallel to the highway, about 1km before the Tom Jones Street off-ramp, when travelling east.

“It appears that the car rolled from a side road running parallel to the highway and landed on the highway,” said Burchell.
