Man arrested with drugs worth R20 000 in Crystal Park

A 24-year-old man was arrested on September 9 for being in possession of CAT worth R20 000.

Police made the arrest in Ellaton Street, Crystal Park.

According to Crystal Park SAPS acting communications officer, Tryna Maritz police received a tip-off regarding a man selling drugs in the area.

“Police and members of the EMPD K9 unit went to the said address; upon arrival they searched the premises,” said Maritz.

The drug CAT, which was in block form in 54 Ziploc bags, was found.

The street value of the drugs found is approximately R20 000.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Benoni Police Station.

He was charged for dealing in drugs.

The Crystal Park SAPS station commander, Lieut-Col Belinda Motaung thanked all role players for the good result.

“The community must be aware that the Crystal Park SAPS has a zero tolerance approach against drugs,” said Motaung.
