Daveyton police have new spokesperson

The Daveyton Police Station have appointed Capt Mesh Makole as its new spokesperson.

Makole replaces Sgt Constance Moalusi, who was the previous acting spokesperson.

Makole has been a chaplain for the Daveyton Police Station since 2013.

“As a chaplain I conducted funerals of police officers who died on duty, spiritual counselling to members of the SAPS and religious service,” he said.

Before joining the Daveyton SAPS he was a chaplain at the Tembisa Police Station.

He has been involved with the police since 2007.

Makole said he plans to improve the image of the station.

“I want to create a good partnership between police, businesses, schools, churches and the community as a whole,” he said.

His duties will involve dealing with crime and social issues and any other crime-related matters.

He said he will continue working with the Pastors and Police Forum (PPF), although his focus will now primarily be on the relationship between police and the community.

“I thank the management for the opportunity and for having confidence in me,” he said.

Makole holds a degree in theology and community and health psychology.
