Northmead and Rynfield were without electricity from about 1.15pm today (September 2), according to Ward 27 Clr Jacques Meiring.
Meiring said officials within the water and energy department told him power should be restored by 3pm, following a glitch at one of the substations.
Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe was unable to shed light on the interruption at the time of publishing.
