André thanks the community

André du Plessis retained his position as Ward 23 councillor.

Du Plessis won with an overwhelming majority in his ward.

The DA came in with 74.08 per cent (14 458 votes), the ANC with 17.06 per cent (3 330 votes) and the EFF managed 3.27 per cent (639 votes).

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to those who voted,” du Plessis said.

“I will serve the entire community, it does not matter who the residents voted for and who did not vote, I will serve all.”

Du Plessis assured his availability to the residents whenever they need him.

“My doors are open to the residents, my numbers are available for them to dial and I am available to them 24/7,” he added.

“My goal is to build a stronger community and fight off corruption.”

Along with building a stronger community by maintaining communication and building relationships with the residents, du Plessis will also prioritise service delivery and highlight the issues surrounding water pressure in Brentwood Park, as well as sewer services.

During this term, du Plessis will focus on refuse removal, encourage recycling, and write policies to implement the legislation on environmental issues, among others.

“I encourage development, but would implement it in a sustainable manner for the environment,” he said.
