Ward 27 includes Morehill, Airfield, Northmead, Ebotse Golf and Country Estate and parts of Rynfield.
DA candidate Jacques Meiring will take over as councillor, after the previous councillor, Gerrie Kriek, retired from politics.
Speaking to the City Times this morning, Meiring said: “I am very glad that we had an immense voter turnout.
”Thank you to the people of Ward 27 – they can expect to have proper services. We understand that there are timelines and budgets, but we will make it work.”
Meiring received 91 per cent of the vote; the ANC 3.58 per cent and the VP+ two per cent.
