How to identify official municipal workers

Do you know how municipal workers should be identified?

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) provided the following information to make sure bogus employees do not con you.

•Contract workers must wear an identity card, as approved by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s (EMM) standard, at all times when on site.

•Consumers can ask for the ID card. There will not be any EMM information on the contractors’ vehicles, but the vehicles will have the contractor’s identification information on the door.

•At all times, the employees need to carry a copy of the appointment letter of EMM and contact details of relevant, consultant of contractor’s main representative for the duration of the contract.

If the correct identification cannot be produced by the municipal worker, residents should take note of the date, time and the officials’ names and report them to the municipality.
