Three hurt in four-vehicle collision

Three people were slightly injured in a four-vehicle accident this morning (August 1).

The collision, which caused heavy traffic congestion, took place on the intersection of New Modder and Snake roads, in Kleinfontein, at about 8am.

According to Kelly Burchell, ER24 spokesperson, a mini-bus taxi, single-cab bakkie and two light motor vehicles were involved.

“The driver of one of the light motor vehicles sustained an abrasion to the head, but did not want to go to hospital,” Burchell said.

“The driver of the mini-bus was its only occupant; he was taken to Tambo Memorial Hospital for a light head injury.

“A passenger from the bakkie also sustained a light injury to the leg, but was not transported to hospital.”
