Woman stabbed in Wattville

A woman was stabbed in the upper body, in Wattville, on the evening of July 23.

The incident happened on Dube Street, at around 9pm.

“The victim, who had a gushing upper body stab wound, was left lying on a pavement near a park,” said EMPD spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago.

“It is suspected that the person responsible disappeared into the nearby houses in Zina Street.”

Kgasago said a member of the public alerted the EMPD and SAPS officers who immediately summoned an ambulance.

Paramedics stabilised the 28-year-old victim before she was transported to the Tambo Memorial Hospital.

“Apparently, the injured woman knows the perpetrator who inflicted the stab wound on her and the police were expected to make an arrest soon,” Kgasago added.
