These areas will experience a water interruption

A planned water supply interruption will affect Etwatwa residents tomorrow (July 26).

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) spokesperson Themba Gadebe said people will be affected from 5am until 7pm.

The interruption is due connections being made on the Etwatwa water supply network.

The following areas will be affected:

•Mayfield Extension One (Main Road)
•Railway houses (Victor Drive)
•Chris Hani (Sabata Street)
•Etwatwa West (clinic and police station)
•Etwatwa Extension 15 (Hadida Street)
•Etwatwa Extension 10 (Sithole, Reuben, Tshipinoto, Mthombeni, Motaung, Motha, Mbathane Streets)
•Etwatwa Extension 19 (Madikizela Street)
•Etwatwa Extension 9 (Kingfisher, Sparrow, Guinea Fowl, Albatros, Bee-Eater Streets)
•Etwatwa Extension 36 (Shamas)
•Etwatwa Extension 18 (sports ground, Steve Biko)

Residents are advised to store water for domestic purposes, however, water tankers will be provided for the duration of the supply interruption and will be dispatched to local schools and clinics.

“The water and sanitation department wishes to apologise for the inconvenience to be caused by the interruption and assures consumers that, should water supply not be restored at the stated time, work will continue to restore supply as soon as possible,” said Gadebe.
