Support LifeLine and Alps at charity golf day

Everybody is looking forward to welcoming spring and the absolute best way to enjoy the arrival of the warmer weather is by playing a round of golf for charity, in the Benoni City Times Buco Rietpan Charity Golf Day, on Thursday, September 1.

By entering a four-ball (or more), by sponsoring a hole or by donating prizes to the golf day you can proudly say that you are a champion of both human and animal welfare causes, as proceeds from the event will be shared between two deserving beneficiaries, LifeLine Ekurhuleni and Animal Lovers Project Swing (Alps).

Also, don’t forget the fabulous business networking opportunities that can be made as you rub shoulders with well-connected locals.

In an interview with the City Times earlier this year, Ebotse Links’ “man-on-the-ground” course superintendent Hardus Maritz, whose pride and joy is everything Ebotse, shared a bit of insight into approaching the course.

“Make sure that you stop at the Pro Shop and get some balls,” he advised.

“Try to keep the ball on the fairway – the short grass.

“Ebotse is definitely a thinker’s course, and it is not a course where you can just jump onto the tee box, grab a driver and just hit it; you have to think a lot to get around Ebotse.

“It’s a course you don’t get tired of playing, because it’s always a challenge.

“The wind is always blowing here, so you really do get that true links feeling, almost like you are in Scotland.

“If you walk down the first hole you won’t even know that you are in Joburg, that’s what makes it such a great place.”
