EMPD spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago said on picking up the signal of the hijacked vehicle on July 8, the tracking company alerted the EMPD Equestrian Unit members who were able to locate the vehicle in Daveyton.
“The vehicle was found abandoned and unlocked on a pavement in Seleka Street,” said Kgasago.
“It was also without a number plate and displayed a special permit.”
The recovered vehicle was taken to SAPS pound in Van Ryn Deep.
