SAPS operation leads to 11 arrests

An Ekurhuleni SAPS Central Cluster second-hand goods operation, conducted in Daveyton on July 5 and 6, yielded positive results.

The operation was held from 11pm until 6am.

Daveyton SAPS spokesperson Sgt Constance Moalusi said five second-hand goods dealers were given fines worth R7 500 for failing to comply with the Second-hand Goods Act.

Daveyton SAPS detectives also mounted a suspect tracing operation, in which 11 people, between the ages of 18 and 45, were arrested on different charges:

• Assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm (eight men and one female)

• Theft (one)

• Robbery (one)

• Breach of parole conditions (one)

All the suspects will appear in the Daveyton Magistrates Court, soon.
