Truck crashes into CBD shop
A truck free-wheeled down Bunyan Street and crashed into a shop in the Benoni CBD this evening (June 26).
The incident took place at around 8.30pm, on the corner or Bunyan Street and Elston Avenue.
According to ER24 spokesperson Kelly Burchell, the horse and trailer was parked on Bunyan Street for most of the day.
“It free-wheeled down the road and into a shop and it clipped a car as well,” she said.
“No one was injured; it just caused a massive obstruction in the road and damaged the building.”
It is believed the truck’s breaking mechanisms failed, causing it to roll down the road.
No one is believed to have been in the truck at the time of the incident.
There was no occupant in the vehicle that the truck made contact with.
