A fire occurred at a substation on Pretoria Road early this morning, causing outages to Rynfield, Crystal Park and Ebotse Golf and Country Estate.
This is the second blaze at the substation, with another having happened in January.
The municipality said said technicians are working around the clock to restore power to affected areas.

“Having assessed the situation, we are confident that power will be fully restored in all areas by tomorrow morning,” said Ekurhuleni mayoral spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“Our technicians will work tirelessly to ensure that this problem is sorted out as soon as possible and we apologise for the inconvenience.”
