Clr Ndosi Shongwe, MMC for environmental development, unveiled the bins at the end of May.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) launched the Clean City Campaign in October last year.
The distribution of 240l wheelie bins is an attempt to encourage the community to tackle the issue of illegal dumping.
It is not clear when the bins will be distributed to other parts of Benoni.
