Stranded passengers start off-loading bus on Tom Jones Street

A bus is being unloaded with the belongings of 23 people, before authorities tow the vehicle away. 

Passengers and members of the community were at 2.30pm frantically off-loading the items, on Tom Jones Street, before it was towed away.

The passengers were destined for Malawi, before the bus broke down.

They have been sleeping in the bus since May 30, on Tom Jones Street.

A woman gave birth to twins in the bus several days ago.

A man believed to be the owner of the bus, has been told to pay R45 000 to another individual to take the passengers across the border.

He said he only has R10 000 available.

It is unclear whether the passengers will be stranded another night.
