According to ER24 spokesperson Liam Hardy, paramedics arrived on scene shortly after 11am.
“When we arrived a man was hanging from a tree,” said Hardy.
Benoni SAPS spokesperson Const Zunickha Essakjee said a passerby saw the body early in the morning and alerted authorities.
The man, who is in his early 30s, was dead when paramedics arrived.
The victim had no identification on him.
An inquest docket has been opened.
