Water in Wattville, Actonville expected back late tonight

The suburbs of Wattville and Actonville will be left without a water supply until at least later tonight (April 20).

According to Clr Imtiaz Loonat (Ward 29) the interruption started at about 3pm.

The supply cut was believed to have started when a water pipe burst on the corner of Aberdeen and Van Dyk roads, just west of Wattville.

“The line belongs to Rand Water; I spoke to them and they had a team on site working on the pipe,” Loonat said.

The councillor said Rand Water had told him the team would be finished within several hours, meaning the residents would have normal water pressure by early the next morning.

The Ekurhuleni metro and Rand Water could not be reached at the time of publication.
