Man assaulted in Farrarmere robbery

Two robbers assaulted a man on a Farrarmere property this afternoon (April 19).

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele said two men, one of whom was armed, entered a home (where a business operates from) at around 14.20pm.

Sekele could not confirm how the robbers gained entry into the property, but said the men instructed the owner of the business and her co-worker to lie down.

“They proceeded to another room where a lady was busy ironing,” said Sekele.

“The woman was brought into the room and joined the two other ladies.”

She said all three were locked inside a bathroom.

Sekele said the robbers made their way to an outside room, where the business owner’s father-in-law stays.

The man was assaulted.

Sekele said the victim was hospitilised, but did not know his condition.

The women were not harmed.

Jewellery, two laptops and and amplifier was stolen.

A case of business robbery and assault will be opened.

No arrests have been made.
