Man arrested after driving into oncoming traffic

A man was arrested for drunk driving after heading into oncoming traffic at the corner of Russell Street and Railway Avenue.

The incident occurred on April 15 at around 7.25am.

Benoni SAPS acting media officer, Const Zunickha Essakjee said the EMPD pulled over a blue Toyota Condor that was driving into oncoming traffic.

“When the vehicle was pulled over, the EMPD officer asked the man for his licence but he failed to produce his licence,” said Essakjee.

“The officer then checked the man’s alcohol levels and it was over the limit.”

The man was arrested and charged with drunk driving at the Benoni Police Station.
