Husband, wife tied up in house robbery

A husband and wife were tied up during a house robbery in Mackenzie Park on April 14.

The incident occurred at around 8am on Roan Street.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson, Lieut Nomsa Sekele said the husband was in the bedroom when he heard his wife screaming from the kitchen.

“When the man went to check on his wife, he found four armed men in the kitchen,” said Sekele.

“The suspects tied up the husband and his wife with shoe laces and hit the man over the head with a gun.”

Sekele said the assailants then searched the house and took a TV, jewellery and an undisclosed amount of money.

The four men then drove off in a silver Mercedes Benz.

The man was not seriously injured.

No arrests have been made.
