Capt Alie van den Berg, from the Benoni SAPS, said men travelling in a charcoal Audi A3 with tinted windows robbed the woman of an undisclosed amount of money before they shot her.
Van den Berg added that police were on the lookout for a car fitting the same description as one used in a earlier house robbery in Farrarmere, when they heard it was involved in a shooting in Boksburg.
