“We are still busy with investigations and linkages,” said Capt Alie van den Berg, commander of the Ekurhuleni Central Tracing Team.
“Two firearms were recovered and sent for ballistic testing.”
Four suspects were chased by Brakpan’s Anti-Hijacking Task Team members, WO Jan Roos and Const Jacques Viviers, after allegedly robbing a clothing store in Boksburg on Tuesday.
The members cornered the suspected robbers along the N17 highway.
Two accomplices fled into surrounding areas.
“The two suspects who were arrested were travelling towards Brakpan,” said van den Berg.
