According to the child’s father, Peter Pietens, his son Kayden and Carmen Scriven should have arrived at his Western Extension home on Tuesday, March 22.
“They never arrived and weren’t seen by anyone since then, as far as I know,” Pietens said.
Pietens reported the two as missing at the Benoni Police Station on Sunday, March 27, as the last time anyone had heard of them was on the Thursday (March 24), via SMS.
No case was opened, as the two were not suspected to have been kidnapped at the time of publication.
Instead, a form of missing persons was filed at the station and the police will follow up if any new information comes in.
“Her (Scriven) boyfriend, who lives with her, called me on Saturday (March 26) to say she and Kayden hadn’t been home since Tuesday (March 22),” Pietens added.
“She sent an SMS to a mutual friend of ours on Thursday (March 24) morning, that’s the last she was heard of.”
The City Times contacted the Benoni SAPS, but no news on the case had surfaced at the time of publication.
“I’m a total wreck, it’s not easy to deal with,” Pietens added.
Kayden was with Scriven at her residence in Forest Hills, Johannesburg South, on the day of their disappearance.
They were last seen driving a two-door white Uno hatchback, with the registration number ZKX 434 GP.
