Themba Gadebe, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) spokesperson, said all administrative offices, libraries, rates halls and pay offices will close at 1pm on Thursday (March 24).
“Essential services such as emergency services, refuse collection, electricity and water services will, however continue to operate,” Gadebe said.
He said customers can still contact the following numbers in case of an emergency and service interruption assistance:
- Municipal services call centre: 086 054 3000.
- Life-threatening emergencies: 011 458 0911 or 10177 or 112 (from a mobile phone).
For accounts enquiries and payments, residents can log on to www.e-siyakhokha.co.za.
The municipal services will resume as per usual at 8am on Tuesday (March 29).
