Hijacking outside Laerskool Rynfield

In a morning of horror, a concerned mother fetching her ill son from Laerskool Rynfield was hijacked.

“According to the victim, she parked in front of the school gate on Mathers Street and got out of her car,” Benoni police station spokesperson Nomsa Sekele said.

“She walked to the gate to ring the bell when the suspect approached her with a pistol in his hand,” she said.

Sekele said the victim went to the school around 11am in her white Ford Ranger bakkie to fetch her ill son when she was approached by the suspect.

“He pointed the gun at her, took her car keys and drove off in her car,” she said.

However, the victim told the police that she does have a tracker in the car.

The City Times was unable to reach the school for comment.
