NATIONAL: Couple stuck on car’s roof for three hours due to flooding on R25

Kempton Express: Kempton Park resident Warryn Mudde and his partner got stuck on the roof of his Kia Sportage for three hours owing to the flood water on the R25 towards Pretoria.

“I was on my way to drop off my partner in Pretoria at about 1.30am this morning (March 10) when we got stuck. At first we didn’t see how much water there was because it was dark, but when we got closer we realised it was too deep but we couldn’t turn around.

“When the car started to float we knew there was no going back. The water flooded the car very quickly and we climbed out through the sunroof,” said Mudde.
