The utility was expected to return at around 1pm, according to Clr Stefanie Kruger (Ward 24).
Water supply was cut at 8pm on March 3, to allow for the replacement of a section of the 800mm main supply pipe, in Van Ryn Small Holdings.
Kruger said the team worked on the pipe throughout the night, but encountered several complications during the repair.
She said she would organise water tankers to be deployed in the suburbs, though could not specify where they would be, at the time of publication.
The pipe was under repair after it burst last week and was temporarily fixed using a clamp.
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) was approached for comment, but none had been received at the time of publication.
