Uncle Tim’s under new ownership

As of March, Uncle Tim’s Centre, located on High Road in Brentwood Park, will be under the new management of Ben and Marietjie Pienaar.

“It is time to retire and let new blood take over,” said current owner of the centre, Tim Jones.

“We will stay on as tenants.”

Tim said the centre needed new developments, and he could not think of anyone better than Kempton Park residents, Ben and Marietjie Pienaar.

But, do not fear, because the Pienaars assure tenants and the community that the current shops will remain.

“An additional eight shops will be opened during the course of the year,” said Marietjie.

“It will include an antique-motorcycle shop, interior decor and gift shop.”

The country fairs, the highlight of Uncle Tim’s, will also be undergoing development, and a brand-new farmer’s market will be established and open every Saturday where customers can support local farmers.

That’s not forgetting the children’s play area, which will be revamped into an olden day ice-cream parlour where children can indulge in arts and crafts, play in the sandpit and take part in clay-modelling activities.

The Pienaars intend to turn Uncle Tim’s Centre into a venue for the community to use as an escape from the daily rush of life.
