Man dies in N12 accident
A man died on the N12 highway this afternoon (February 8), following an accident involving three vehicles.
The accident involved a truck, a Quantum and a light motor vehicle. near the Putfontein off-ramp, when travelling to Springs.
“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene to find all three vehicles on the side of the road,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
“The [Quantum] was wedged up against the truck up the embankment.
“On assessment, paramedics found the lifeless body of the driver lying outside the light motor vehicle.
“Unfortunately the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries and was declared dead on scene.”
The deceased man is believed to have died when he was flung from his vehicle.
The driver of the Quantum sustained moderate injuries.
Meiring said the truck driver was apparently not found on scene.
The truck driver’s passenger did not sustain injuries.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
