Pedestrian robbed of groceries at gunpoint

A man was robbed of cash, his cellphone and groceries, while he was walking home in the Benoni Agricultural Holdings, on the evening of February 2.

Crystal Park SAPS acting communications officer Tryna Maritz said a white Isuzu bakkie stopped alongside the 36-year-old male on Wattle Road, at 6pm.

“One suspect jumped out and pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded money,” said Maritz.

“Cash and a cellphone was robbed, together with his groceries.”

The robbers drove off and left the victim unharmed.

Maritz said just over R800 was stolen from the pedestrian.
