Man arrested for raping girl (15)

According to Benoni SAPS spokesperson Const Zunickha Essakjee, the driver fetched the girl from school to drop her off at home as he normally does, on January 13.

“The man called the girl’s mother and told her his taxi was giving him problems and that the girl would be home late,” said Essakjee.

“He then took the girl to an unknown place and raped her.

“After a few hours, the man dropped off the girl at home.”

Essakjee said the teenager told her mother what had happened to her after she asked what was wrong with her.

The victim was taken to hospital for medical examinations.

A case of rape was opened at the Etwatwa Police Station and the suspect will appear in court soon.
