Help to realise a free recording studio

Musician, songwriter and producer Kgosietsile Maboa, also known as Gemin Tumour, is giving upcoming musicians an opportunity to record their demos free of charge.

The studio will be based at his Crystal Park home and will be open to upcoming artists who can’t afford studio fees.

Maboa said the idea behind the studio is to give artists an opportunity to create the quality of music necessary for radio airplay and performances.

“With this project I would like to assist artists to record their music close by,” added Maboa

“I’ve noticed that the majority of artists end up having to travel to Johannesburg or Pretoria just to record their music, and spend thousands in pursuing their passion.”

He added that having a studio that is accessible in the area would save time and a lot of money.

Artists will be given a chance to record any music genre.

“Recording artists must come through with their own beats,” said Maboa.

“We will not be promoting the artists’ music, but video clips of the artist will be shot while they are in studio.

“I’m giving back to these artists because I’ve been in the music industry and no one gave me information on what I would come across through my journey,” he said

Maboa is looking for sponsors to donate studio equipment or music instruments.

The recording sessions will commerce next year, in January.

Anyone who would like to donate instruments can email to Maboa on nuckleheadbrand@gmail.com.
